About me

Michelle is an artist based in Traralgon, Victoria interested in exploring the dialogue between how she is seen by others in relation to how she sees herself, and how these different versions of selfhood inform a complex understanding of identity. Using self-portraiture as her primary means of visual expression, Michelle experiments with painting, installation and assembly to investigate ways of displaying and representing herself in various states of construction.

As an avid illustrator and painter, Michelle is always learning and developing her technical skills. She has travelled to New York as part of the Summer Undergraduate Residency Program to expand upon her painting and drawing knowledge, as well as received mentorship awards through Testing Grounds and the NAVA Incinerator Award for professional practice.

Michelle has experience delivering community art programs and workshops, as well as exhibited her work in group exhibitions across Gippsland and overseas. She is currently working part-time as a Gallery Technician at Latrobe Regional Gallery and developing her skills in exhibition installation.

Michelle has a Bachelor of Fine Art from Federation University and a Bachelor of Creative Arts from La Trobe University.
